In a puzzling manner, “Jeopardy!” contestants didn’t chime in when shown the clue to Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers.
Tell me somethin’, girl? Could you name the “A Star Is Born” hit song if given a clue about it?
On Monday, “Jeopardy!” presented this Final Jeopardy! clue in the category “Recent Movie Songs”: “In October 2019 this song, a duet, was still in the top 10 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary Chart after spending a year on the chart.”
The correct response was – you guessed it – “Shallow,” the Oscar-winning Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper tune. An easy Final Jeopardy! question, yes?
Well, only one contestant, Ben Sonday, responded with the correct answer.
As for the other contestants, well, they knew the song, but they couldn’t come up with the title. Andrew Cramer could only name the performers, and Felicity Flesher, the champion, mistakenly called the song “Into the Deep.” (There’s a lyric “I’m off the deep end, watch as I dive in.”) It lost her the game.
And Sonday, who was in third place going into Final Jeopardy!, didn’t win the game, either. He wagered so little money, $401, that his grand total with the correct answer was still lower than Cramer’s. (Flesher would’ve handily won had she written “Shallow.”)

Some “Jeopardy!” fans took to Twitter to share how unimpressed they were with the Final Jeopardy! question’s level of difficulty.
“I said ‘Shallow’ before the clue was even read,” tweeted film critic Adam Graham.
Erika Norton wrote that the Final Jeopardy! clue “was literally the easiest,” and the fact that two people missed it was “A DAMN SHAME.”
According to Lexie Krystin, the question was a “softball” and “they STILL got it wrong.”
Twitter user @harudites called it before the clue was even presented.
Even the Twitter account @JeopardyBlindGuesser posted that there were “A LOT” of correct blind guesses to the clue.
As the song goes: Are you happy in this modern world? Or do you need more?
Sounds like the people need more!
